This sharing session follows the recent publication of a local evidence synthesis on 21st century competencies (21CCs). For the purposes of this session, 21CCs are regarded as important learning outcomes that can prepare and equip students with what is necessary to navigate and do well in the increasingly digital, volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) present and future. Drawing from 119 Singapore-based studies, the session features key insights for characterizing and developing 21CCs. These insights cover three themes: teacher dispositions, lesson design and whole-school approaches. The session will conclude with the sharing of recommendations to enrich research, policy and practice concerning the teaching and learning of 21CCs.
